Enterprise Sales Engineer-South Central US

  • Primary technical sales interface for general territory accounts with a focus on Oil and Gas
  • Knowledge of Object Storage systems, purpose, workflows and value proposition
  • Knowledge of Western Digital (HGST) ActiveScale Object Storage platform is a plus
  • Ability to build solutions using Object Storage and available eco-system partners (gateways, backup products)
  • Solid understanding and ability to communicate Oil and Gas workflows
  • Act as 'trusted technical adviser' to customer base developing critical relationships with key stakeholders in the process
  • Communication and positioning of competitive Object Storage offerings
  • Ability to conduct compelling presentations regarding ActiveScale strategic technical advantages and value proposition
  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of ActiveScale solutions according to customer needs and objectives
  • Manage the 'Proof of Concept' process through detailed requirements gathering and customer testing cycle ultimately leading to system purchase
  • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to exceed sales quotas
  • Prepare reports on technical account status


  • Fluency in Object Storage and/or SDS implementations
  • Proven work experience as a sales engineer, stoarage engineer or other relevant technical experience
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Solid experience with CRM software – Preferably SFDC
  • Experience in delivering client-focused technical solutions based on customer needs
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
