This is a high visibility and cross-functional role with exposure to the inner workings of WD’s world-class supply chain. The candidate will be responsible for –Reviewing the daily output from i2 and troubleshooting supply gaps to meet demand on time. Provide loading forecast to factories every week. Manage excess and slow moving inventory and provide disposition accordingly. Collaborate with Asia planning team to review and make necessary changes to device and drive loading on a weekly basis. Work on creation of material plan for procurement teams to trigger purchase of different components needed for manufacturing components and drives. Work very closely with cross functional teams like POM, supply chain optimization, sales ops, demand planning and others within and outside operations. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a deep passion for modeling and optimization techniques, an eagerness to work with large data sets, and a vision for turning data and model outputs into actionable insights.
Qualifications: MS in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Math, Statistics and/or Computer Science with some experience with Supply Chain and/or Operations Research models. Analytical thinking, working experience with Excel/Tableau, good communication (oral, written and presentation). Prior experience with linear programming models is a plus.The candidate should ideally have 3-5 years’ experience.
