The WDC Enterprise Validation Labs PMO Group is seeking a program manager to work in our Rochester, MN location.  The Validation Labs team is a dynamic worldwide organization where test engineers work closely with drive development engineers and our customers’ engineers during the process of bringing a drive to market.  This team supports the full WDC hard disk and solid state drive lines as well as WDC-branded products.


This is a program management position responsible for managing enterprise drive programs through the validation process in our FIT, SIT, and PTL labs.  The position will work closely with the engineering program manager, product program manager, quality program manager and core team to ensure successful verification of the product and launch to the market.

Responsibilities also include the creation of test schedules, test status, risk assessments, plus resource and capital planning.


Qualified candidates will have at least 15 years of disk drive or computer industry experience, must have a BS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, plus project management experience and or certification.  Skills and/or prior experience should also include:

  • Experience managing projects across multiple geographies
  • Leadership experience as a Project Manager and People Manager
  • Project management tools skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook / Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Computer SW / HW  architecture knowledge
  • Disk drive (HDD / SSD) technical knowledge
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
