ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain Engineering Services wide objectives, monitoring metrics and reporting.

  • With IT Financial leaders, develop appropriate model for representing Public Cloud IaaS spending and benefit, from both financial and Western Digital product benefit.

  • Develop the process for Engineering Services to meet FY financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

  • Be a peer leader and representative in building and managing the relationships between engineering development teams and IT.

  • As needed, lead projects and programs with development teams for new IT solutions and ad-hoc requests.

  • Implement processes to make Ad-Hoc and emergency support engagements with engineering teams manageable and sustainable.

  • Develop plans and projects (both short term and long term) to decrease current IT infrastructure requirements necessary for development teams to meet product goals and schedule commitments.
  • Engage in new development programs discussions early to understand current and future requirements such that IT can develop scalable and sustainable solutions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience, with at least 8 years of hands-on leadership and people management experience in IT and/or software development teams.

  • Extensive experience in IT operations, programs and project management.  Specific experience in projects and programs supporting product engineering and software/hardware development environments will be key for success.

  • Experience leading nimble and fast moving projects and programs inside large organizations, ensuring the success of the projects and programs is not stifled by organization bureaucracy.

  • Must possess strong documentation skills and can work with rapid change and at a fast pace.

  • Proven ability to build and lead high performing and geographically dispersed teams that are not in your direct management chain.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to manage complex process and technology issues.

  • BS/BA preferred or equivalent experience.
